An expanding wild is a special slot symbol that grows to cover an entire reel or multiple symbol positions after appearing on the reels. Expanding wilds substitute for regular symbols to help create additional winning combinations. This feature is widely used in online video slots and is often linked to bonus rounds and free spins.
