An odds-on favourite is a selection considered highly likely to win, with odds lower than even money. In fractional odds, this is shown as odds such as 1/2 or 4/5, where the potential profit is lower than the original stake. Odds-on favourites are common in sports betting when one team or player is significantly stronger than the opposition.
